Prairie smoke (Geum triflorum)

Prairie Smoke is one of the first flowering after winter on the prairie of North America and produces dainty pink purple flowers. The bloom may continue throughout the summer, it is most exuberant on a pitch in full sun and is followed by seeds with long plumes. These plumes blow as plumes of smoke into the wind, so the plant is the name prairie smoke. The tufts ensure that the seeds can be dispersed by the wind. The species is very hardy to more than 40 degrees below zero, remains small and is a very easy plant to keep.

Seed description:
Seeds sow in seed and cutting soil, and then only 4 to 6 weeks in the refrigerator. Ground while keeping constantly moist. After this cold period to germinate at room temperature.
